Track Unique Clicks and Opens

Gathering votes

Email/SMS tracking is generally wrong because the calculations are actually incorrect.

When ESPs track clicks/opens they're using a useless, outdated, soul-crushing formula:

unique clicks / total recipients

So sending to a list of 10,000 people, with 325 clicks and 1500 opens = 0.0325. Seeing that tends to drop confidence and heart because a fraction tells you nothing, in reality.

What the CRM world needs, that NOBODY else offers, that would increase everyone's confidence in their email/SMS skills, using a more accurate formula:

Total unique clicks / total unique opens

It would look like this:

10,000 sent, 2026 opened, out of the 2026, 1649 were unique opens. 462 clicks total clicks, 372 were unique opens.

2026 / 10,000 = 20% open rate

372 / 1649 = 23% CTR vs 0.0372 the old way. (372 / 10,000)

Which do you think is going to make marketers and clients ecstatic? Your campaign performance is better than you realize... especially if it's translating to sales/bookings.

How it would look for both individual & campaign levels:

=== (email/campaign/SMS)
Underneath reporting section
Total Opens | Total Clicks | Unique Opens | Unique Clicks | Unique Open Rate | Unique CTR

Or some form of that.

Do you see how this is immensely accurate, improves confidence when writing emails/SMS, allowing for a deeper understanding of segments and campaigns on top of A/B testing?

VERY few ESPs offer this, not a single CRM does as far as I know.

Imagine the selling point that NinjaPipe also increases confidence due to correct campaign metric tracking.

I never heard of this method, it makes sense because segmentation becomes easy to understand. Allows fast pivoting and seems to offer greater insight. Really cool!
